We'll keep this quick: The CARES Act includes $500 billion of discretionary spending for the United States Treasury Department to lend to businesses and states.
This amount of money warrants nonpartisan oversight. Yet... President Trump fired the Inspector General in charge of overseeing the Treasury's relief efforts and is now trying to appoint someone with deep ties to the White House.
That means there will be a total lack of transparency as to how the $500 billion will be spent.
