When US soldiers and contractors like Blackwater carried out massacres in Iraq and Afghanistan the ICC was nowhere to be found. When US airmen were caught deliberately bombing wedding parties and hospitals, no ICC. When Australian commandos were caught on video executing Afghani POW's - the ICC must have forgotten to prosecute them. Why?
Because it is an institution funded and dominated by the United States and the West.
This is how we know that what Israel has been doing is Nazi-level bad.
The fact that the ICC, long seen as all but an American proxy, has indicted Netanyahu speaks volumes. It means that Israel’s crimes have been so blatant and egregious that not even America (not for lack of trying) could protect Netanyahu on our home court.
In another unprecedented event this week that speaks to the growing recognition of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, more than 19 senators — nearly half of Senate Democrats — voted with Bernie Sanders to block weapons to Israel. The world is waking up and so too are our lawmakers.
Sadly, there are 55 members of the House Progressive Caucus, Congress’s supposedly left-most faction, who are still voting to send weapons to Israel’s genocidal extreme right-wing government.
We need to get these members to come around to the right side of history or drag them out of their offices kicking and screaming. Can we count on you to chip in to our efforts to clean up the caucus with a donation of whatever you can spare?
