Dear neighbor,
This week, I was honored to be re-elected for another term as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus. Alongside Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Whip Katherine Clark, Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar and our entire leadership team, I am ready to get to work on behalf of American families.
House Democrats will continue to listen to the American people about issues that matter most to them. We have a lot of work to do, but I’m confident that we are up to the task. Check out this week’s press conference with our whole leadership team below.
VETTING ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN: Recent reporting suggests that President-elect Trump may be planning to bypass precedent to skip routine FBI vetting for Cabinet nominees. Not only would this be an abuse of the security process that many government employees are subject to, but it would also pose a serious risk to our nation’s security.
That’s why I joined Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA) to introduce the Security Clearance Review Act, which would ensure that Congress retains its oversight responsibilities and prevent untrustworthy or compromised people with major security concerns from accessing sensitive intelligence information. Learn more about the bill here.
I look forward to updating you again soon.
Warmly,
Ted
