Washington, D.C. - On Saturday, I had my second meeting with our 2024-2025 Youth Advisory Council at West Coast University in Richardson. Students chose an issue they were passionate about and presented strong arguments to their peers. It was exciting to see these young leaders so engaged in public policy.

On Tuesday, I said goodbye to our fall class of D.C. interns, Adarryl, Nico, Alex and Haley. I appreciate their hard work and dedication to serving North Texans. You can learn more about our congressional internship program by clicking here.

After, I headed to the House floor to support the CLEAN Act which will cut red tape so we can expand geothermal energy production here at home, moving toward a more energy-independent America.

Later that evening, I joined a discussion on artificial intelligence with former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, at the Library of Congress. America has an opportunity to lead on AI and I appreciated hearing Eric's insights on where the technology is heading.

Wednesday, I met with Brad Winges, President and CEO of Hilltop Securities in Dallas. We discussed important tax provisions in the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts that have helped fund local infrastructure projects in Texas-24 and my work to expand these tax cuts to provide relief for working families and job creators.

Thursday, I introduced the PURE Act to ensure vulnerable Americans have access to timely, affordable at-home care. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation will meet the growing demand by expanding access to lifesaving portable ultrasound services. You can read more about it in my Work of the Week section!

I was glad to help pass the Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act to end the misplaced tax-exempt status of nonprofit organizations abusing taxpayer dollars to fund terrorism.

I also spoke with Texas-24 resident Lindsay Johnson from HALO Trust about how the organization helps clear landmines and teach people to stay safe.

I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving next week!

I introduced the PURE Act, a bipartisan, bicameral bill, to give medical providers flexibility and ensure seniors receive the high-quality care they deserve. Click here to learn more.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Deputy Constable Nolan Bagwell of Dallas. Deputy Bagwell was among the first batch of responders to Allen Premium Outlets, evacuating and protecting hundreds of North Texans after a gunman opened fire.
