Team, I’m Kat, our voter contact director. I’m saying hello today because we’re just over five weeks out from the Kentucky primary—our chance to officially make Amy the nominee to take on Mitch McConnell.

In a COVID-19 reality, we’ve had to make some big shifts in our plans to get out the vote. Democracy only works when every voice is heard—and with Governor Beshear recently restoring voting rights to over 140,000 Kentuckians, more people than ever are eligible to vote.

What’s more, due to the COVID-19 crisis, every Kentucky voter is eligible to cast a vote by mail. We’re working our tails off to get thousands of people registered to vote before Kentucky’s deadline, on top of getting Kentuckians informed about how to request and fill out absentee ballots. (And of course, we’re doing all of this remotely ourselves.)

This process is a lot more challenging than we expected when we began this campaign, but that doesn’t make it any less important. We’re depending on this grassroots team to help us reach voters in the coming weeks so Amy can take on Mitch head to head.

If you can, chip in now, and help us get the word out about this primary and defend democracy in Kentucky:
