Dear Friend,

November has been a busy month full of surprises, celebrations, and a few heartbreaks. I want you to know - my resolve remains strong, and I will keep fighting for New Mexico.

At every turn, I will fight to ensure reproductive freedom and LGBTQ+ rights are protected, Americans have quality, affordable healthcare, veterans are supported and taken care of, and I’ll work to curb the flow of fentanyl into the country.

As we near the end of the current Congress, I know our work will build a more resilient world for everyone in NM-01 and across the country.

This week, House Republicans tried to introduce H.R.8706 - Dismantle DEI Act of 2024, which would eliminate authorizations and funding for government diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and effectively abolish all Federal DEI offices and regulations.

All of this so President-Elect Trump can appoint his unqualified candidates. I immediately introduced an amendment that would strike the text and replace it with a provision to protect nonpartisan, merit-based federal workers. I will not sit idly by as MAGA extremists try to dismantle our country piece by piece.
