Dear Friend,
For decades, more than two million public sector workers have not received all of the retirement benefits they earned because of two harmful provisions in the Social Security Act. However, beneficiaries recently got one step closer to correcting this injustice.
The U.S. House passed a bill last week – the Social Security Fairness Act – that will repeal these unfair provisions. But it can’t become law until the U.S. Senate approves it.
This bill is a critical lifeline. If it doesn’t become law, public sector retirees and their spouses will continue to see their Social Security benefits reduced by hundreds of dollars a month.
The House of Representatives took the first step. Now it’s time for the Senate to get this over the finish line.
Sincerely,
Richard Fiesta
