John,
President-elect Trump has vowed to begin his second term by deporting over 13 million people from the United States.
A monthly gift from you will help fight this travesty. [[link removed]]
The American Immigration Council has done the math – and the cost of a mass deportation regime would fundamentally change the federal government and our social fabric:
* The annual cost of deporting one million immigrants per year would be a staggering $88 billion, with most of that cost going toward building detention camps.
* It would take over 10 years to detain, process, and remove all targeted immigrants.
* Mass deportation would remove more than 30% of the workers in major construction trades, such as masons, roofers, and painters.
The total estimated cost of a mass deportation regime would be $967.9 billion. The literal and human cost is simply unthinkable. We can’t let this happen.
Give generously for Giving Tuesday right now and help us reach our $15,000 funding goal! Your generosity is instrumental in providing the critical resources we need to fight back. [[link removed]]

Your ongoing gift will power all the Council’s important work, including:
* Providing immigrants in need with legal resources.
* Informing the public about the true costs of a mass deportation plan.
* Building more welcoming communities across the country, so everyone can feel like they belong.
There is no way to engage in mass deportation without fundamentally changing the federal government, the national economy, and ultimately, America itself. Together, let’s stop mass deportations before they start.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Robbins
Executive Director
P.S. We won’t stand idly by. Make a monthly [[link removed]] or one-time gift [[link removed]] to help the Council fight back and stop mass deportations before they even start!
