Hello everyone,

It's time to move.

No, not out of the country. It's time to mobilize our collective strength right here in the USA.

With the upcoming change in political leadership, we must strengthen our resolve and our community. We must be prepared to fight for survivors' safety, access to services, and legal protections.

I know how the previous Trump Administration was harmful to survivors ([link removed]) . Our communities were regularly under attack. We stood together then, and we will do it again. We must act now to shore up current protections and prepare for the fight ahead.

Here are some of the issues that I foresee, because it is what happened before:
* Actual or practical elimination of the T Visa for trafficking survivors, even deporting them before they can testify
* Eliminating the investigation and prosecution of labor trafficking by the Departments of Labor and Justice to protect corporations instead of workers
* Cutting grant funding for immigrant, queer, and trans trafficking services survivors
* Allowing trafficking programs to discriminate against survivors based on their religion, immigration status, gender identity, or sexual orientation
* Denying trafficking victims access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, even tracking their menstrual cycles to deny them access to needed medical care
* Cutting legal representation for criminalized survivors

We need your help.

Coming off of the last Trump Administration, FNUSA worked hard to pass regulations and policies over the past 4 years to protect and support survivors. Our advocacy has:
* Made the T Visa stronger
* Changed immigration procedures to protect survivors from deportation
* Changed DOL policy to force them to investigate labor trafficking and protect victims
* Changed grantmaking at DOJ to require victim-centered, non-discriminatory services
* Protected grant funds for immigrant, queer, and trans survivors
* Restored legal representation for criminalized survivors and created a nationwide program to connect survivors to free legal services

These problems will not be isolated to certain states or regios, these will be nationwide issues. FNUSA's reach spans from coast to coast, from north to south. Together, with our members, we are fighting for those who need it most, like immigrant survivors, LGBTQIA+ survivors, and survivors who have been unjustly criminalized. We are on the Hill, in the federal agency offices, meeting quietly in coffee shops, and reconnecting with journalists and pro bono attorneys ready to report on violations and challenge them in court.

Can I count on you to show up for our community?
