DSA 101s are happening near you!
Check out a DSA 101 where we’ll talk about what capitalism is, how it functions, and why socialism is ideologically opposed to it. We’ll also talk about the structure of DSA, our analysis of the political conditions in the city, state and country, and how we can organize for a better future.
This is not a lecture, but a meeting for new and veteran organizers to ground ourselves in socialist theory and discuss together how we can put it into action. We’re excited to chat with you!

THIS FRIDAY AT 11:59 PM: Deadline to Nominate Yourself for DSA-LA Leadership Elections!
As a truly democratic organization, when it's time to elect leaders to DSA-LA, we call on all members to consider stepping up to run and to fully engage in the process of determining the direction of the chapter for the next year. And with the current surge of new members and ascent of the far right, we need strong leaders to harness the power of our growing membership and meet the urgency of the moment. Could that be you?
The first round of leadership elections is in motion, with candidate nominations open for our Steering Committee, YDSA Coordinator, and Branch Coordinator positions until 11:59 pm on Friday, Nov. 22. Full info on election process here.
We also encourage all candidates and voters to attend the candidate forum on December 7 at 10 am - 2:30 pm, which will also include a discussion with DSA-LA's Socialists in Office about what our roadmap to a Los Angeles for the working class looks like in the year ahead. This will give you a chance to learn more about the internal leadership candidates, how they relate to our members in elected office, and the different visions for our chapter moving forward - all in one event!
