John,

Many Texans are still celebrating the Red Wave that swept the nation, but no one should rest on their laurels.

The reason is simple: In a subversive—but not unexpected—move, the political establishment is attempting to masquerade as part of the monumental victory.

They know most Americans will be high on the win until Donald Trump’s inauguration. In Texas, they expect most citizens to be in holiday mode until the legislative session starts on January 14th... by which time, they will have set themselves up in a prime position to maintain the status quo.

For Texas, it is a system in which Republican speakers have courted the support of Democrats to hold power in the House. Speakers appoint Democrats to powerful chair positions, allowing them to effectively kill popular reforms designed to disempower lobbyists and their cronies.

We’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. There is no more hiding in Austin. Day in and day out, we will be in the halls of the Texas Capitol, shining a light on the issues that matter most to Texans like you.
