James, thank you.
This isn’t the result we wanted – but first and foremost, I want to tell you how grateful I am that you were part of the movement we built together.
We knew from the beginning that this would be a tough fight – but I’ve never shied away from tough fights. It’s why I became a doctor, why I fought to restore abortion access in Wisconsin, and it’s why I jumped into this race.
And we have come so far. Thousands of people in this district, throughout Wisconsin, and across the country sent donations, gave their time, and stood up to send a message that Wisconsin is done with right-wing extremism and with restrictions on our health care.
Despite forecasts saying this district would go Republican, we raised millions of dollars – not from wealthy special interests, but from grassroots donors like you who want to see a better future for all, who want to protect our most personal rights and freedoms. We reached thousands of voters who stood up to say that they’re with us. This is not the end of our fight. I have been so proud to work with you to advocate for progress, and I don’t intend to stop doing that now.
We know that attacks on reproductive health care are going to keep coming – but we also know that we will be ready, and we will continue this work. Because I certainly don’t intend to stand by as politicians attempt to dictate the care I provide to patients.
I’m going to keep fighting for Wisconsin, and I hope you’ll join me.
Thank you.
Always –
Kristin
