Like a lot of you, I’ve been searching for ways I can make a difference now that Trump is going back to the White House. Democrats simply can’t afford to keep losing.

So, this week I decided to run for a leadership role with the New Democrat Coalition in Congress. This caucus is 108 members strong and will be one of the most important places for Democrats to fight back over the next 4 years.

I’m happy to share that last night my peers elected me Vice Chair of the New Democrat Coalition! I am super excited. In this role, I will have the opportunity to take a leading role in shaping Democratic policy and messaging for the next two years.

I know it’s going to be a lot to juggle being a leader of the caucus, running our own intense reelection campaign, and being a dad to our little ones, but ultimately I knew it was my duty to step up. Who needs sleep anyway?
