John —

One of North Carolina’s closest and most consequential elections this year is headed to a recount: Democrat Allison Riggs is up in the final count but needs our help to hold onto her seat on the state Supreme Court.

Allison faced a tough election to keep her seat earlier this month, and while she has come out ahead in the vote count, the margin is less than one percent. This is why your vote always matters, John.

Tweet from Allison: This win shows the importance of ensuring that every voter’s voice is heard. On election night, we were down, but we knew there were many absentee and provisional ballots that needed to be counted. After all ballots were canvassed, we won by a margin of fewer than 1,000 votes.

Allison’s Republican opponent has called for a recount, so we need to protect her victory.

You can help make sure Allison holds onto this critical victory by contributing to her Recount Fund here >>>

I was proud to appoint Allison to our state Supreme Court. After a successful career fighting for fairness and defending people’s constitutional rights as a litigator and Court of Appeals Judge, Allison has continued to stand up for North Carolinians in her first year as a Supreme Court Justice.

This state Supreme Court election could have critical consequences for the future of reproductive rights and voting rights in North Carolina. Allison’s victory may also give Democrats a path to flipping back the court in 2028.

This election isn’t over yet, John. Allison still needs us — and I’m counting on you to join me and support her recount efforts with a donation. Click here to give >>>
