Let me be clear: this selection is deeply concerning. As a former CIA case officer who worked undercover, I understand firsthand the high stakes involved in America’s intelligence operations. The methods, sources, and the sensitive information we rely on to safeguard national security are critical to our safety and well-being.

The Director of National Intelligence oversees the entire U.S. intelligence community. They have access to all the intelligence that informs decisions to keep the American people safe.

Frankly, Tulsi Gabbard has cozied up to our adversaries, including Vladimir Putin, and has tweeted out Kremlin propaganda. This isn’t about partisan politics. This is about protecting our national security.

I have dedicated my career to safeguarding our democracy and protecting our fellow Americans. As I continue my work in Congress and look ahead to serving as Virginia’s next Governor, I will keep speaking out on these critical issues.
