 I know so many of us are being impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak -- but if anything, this response shows how important it is to elect officials who will work hard for us and share the truth. But if you'd prefer to take a break from updates about Senate races in these uncertain times, let us know and we'll unsubscribe you for a few weeks -- because sometimes, we all need a quick break. Friend, Not all heroes wear capes -- and not all heroes can work from home. For essential employees across the country -- like those in health care, sanitation, grocery stores, drug stores, transportation and the U.S. Postal Service -- social distancing is not an option. They get up and out of bed every day and go to work in a world of unknowns. Will they get sick? Will they pass sickness on to a loved one? We need them, but their families need them, too. It's an impossible situation, and they deserve our support right now, when they need it most. That's why I'm pushing for the Senate to pass legislation that would give those essential workers a raise -- something we're calling the Heroes Fund. They deserve hazard pay for what they're risking to keep us safe, fed, and healthy: If you agree, add your name today to show your support for the Heroes Fund. We're advocating to send as much as $25,000 in hazard pay to essential employees, and this should be an easy bipartisan move. These workers are there for us, so we have to be there for them. Folks like a family doctor in Syracuse whose new routine after he comes home from work involves changing out of his scrubs in his garage, immediately disinfecting them, then going immediately to shower before saying hello to his family.
