We understand everyone may still be processing a mix of emotions after the presidential election. Knowing how the candidates campaigned on a range of issues and policies, many advocates for racial health equity are justifiably worried about what lies ahead for our most under-resourced and marginalized communities. We share some reflections and resources in our post-election statement.

Following the results of this month’s presidential election, we’re left with many questions about how to protect the future of health equity work. In this latest Health Equity Community Collaborative webinar, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and AAMC Center for Health Justice outlined the current legal challenges and protections available for community programs and services.

Medicaid will cover traditional healing practices for Native Americans in 4 states

For the first time, Medicaid in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Oregon is set to cover traditional health practices such as music therapy, sweat lodges, and dancing to help with physical and mental health.
