Hi John,
I’m writing to you from Washington, D.C., where the fight to protect the Boundary Waters has never been more urgent. We come to the Capitol monthly to defend the Boundary Waters, but right now the stakes are incredibly high.
The president-elect has vowed to overturn Boundary Waters protections within his first ten minutes in office , fast-tracking toxic copper mining in one of the world’s most pristine and cherished wilderness areas.
We’re taking them at their word.
This week’s trip to the Capitol was different. I brought 42 passionate young advocates with me —our Kids for the Boundary Waters. These kids love the Boundary Waters as much as we do. Watching their determination to save this Wilderness has given me immense hope.
But hope alone is not enough. We need action.
This Give to the Max Day, you have the chance to make an immediate impact. Your gift will be DOUBLED [[link removed]] if you give before midnight tonight.
We are building a powerful line of defense to meet the growing threats to the Boundary Waters. These fund will allow us to:
* Escalate legal challenges to fight toxic mining operations.
* Rally public support to amplify our collective voice.
* Push for protections at every level—local, state, and federal.

The work we do in Washington, D.C., is critical. Right now, I’m meeting with one of our strongest champions, Minnesota’s U.S. Senator Tina Smith. Our long-standing relationships with key legislators and agencies are central to defending the Boundary Waters from this onslaught of attacks.
We’ve faced this threat before and emerged stronger. Through unwavering advocacy, strategic legal efforts, and your support, we defended the Boundary Waters during the first Trump presidency. We are ready to do it again—but only with your help.
Will you join us by making a 2X matched gift today? [[link removed]]
The Boundary Waters can’t defend itself. It depends on all of us who love it to fight for its future. Once the wilderness is polluted, it’s lost forever.
