Dear Friend,

Michigan has always been home to dreamers and doers who get things done and show the world that we build the future. In recent years, we have been taking bipartisan action to build the future of cars, chips, and clean energy; creating good-paying jobs you can raise a family on; and growing our economy by bringing supply chains home.

To deliver on our goal of helping anyone ‘Make it in Michigan,’ we will need a long-term vision and expanded economic development tools. To get this done, I need your help. I encourage you to show your support for our economic development strategy with your state legislators.

Together, we build on our progress to offer prosperity to Michiganders in every corner of the state and set up the next generation for success.

Let’s get it done.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Whitmer

Governor

*Make it in Michigan*

Our bipartisan ‘Make it in Michigan’ strategy is working. We made record bipartisan investments reversing decades of disinvestment in housing, roads, and other infrastructure. We equipped ourselves with new economic tools to deliver for our people, communities, and businesses in all 83 counties of the state. This includes:

* Streamlined Renaissance Zones, cutting red tape and incentivizing job growth.
* Record funding in community development and revitalization and placemaking to build vibrant, prosperous communities and main streets.
* Economic development and affordable housing through the Transformational Brownfield Fund.

Every dollar invested puts an average of almost $4 back into Michigan residents’ paychecks and generates millions back to the state that can be invested in our schools, roads, and more.

*Looking Forward*

This fall, I’m working with legislators across the aisle to expand our Make it in Michigan Toolbox so that we can continue delivering prosperity to communities like yours across the state.

An expanded toolbox will help us compete against other states and nations for projects of all sizes in emerging industries.

*How You Can Help*

I encourage you to contact your State Representative or Senator to thank them for bringing jobs to your district and ask them to support the further expansion of the Make it in Michigan toolbox.
