This might be surprising to hear, but deep-blue California saw an 8-point shift toward Trump in this past election.

That's a fairly significant slide right, and while it's easy to chalk up the votes of millions of Californians to hate or falling for Trump's deception, the fact is that more young people and more Black and Latino families voted for Trump than ever before.

We have our work cut out for us to reject the worst impulses of the Trump regime, but we have an even bigger job in front of us: We need to make good on our progressive values and provide a vision that Californians can all believe in.

We need true economic justice for working families being crushed by the affordability and housing crises.

We need to restore trust in Sacramento's ability to lead with accountability.

And we need to reinvigorate our fight for environmental justice and secure a safe future for younger generations.
