We’re inches away from stopping the first step in turning our public schools into Sunday schools, John! The State Board of Education (SBOE) will make their final vote tomorrow, Friday, and you can tell them to vote NO on the state's new Bible-infused K-5 reading curriculum [[link removed]] .
This Monday, Nov. 18, people like you turned out in droves to the SBOE meeting to push back against the many flaws of the state’s new reading curriculum materials. These materials are not only wildly age-inappropriate, but they fail to accurately represent history and blatantly favor Christianity, proselytizing our children with Bible stories that are more appropriate for Sunday schools than public schools.
And the debate at the SBOE is razor thin. The materials advanced to the next vote by a single member: the one appointed for interim by Governor Abbott while the elected member has yet to be seated.
This is truly our last chance to urge the SBOE to put students first and REJECT this curriculum! Can you reach out to the swing votes for us? [[link removed]]

Public schools are NOT Sunday schools, and the public should drive education policy, not far-right extremists and politicians. Your voice is essential in this fight!
