John,
Suffering like Joy's should never happen. But her experience is real and all too common in our digital age, so we are resharing her story below. Our limited-time Holiday Match is in full swing, and every gift will help bring twice the hope, rescue and restoration to children like Joy.

John, we recently introduced you to a child named Joy*, who was rescued from online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines thanks to the support of people like you.
Online exploitation of children is one of the most terrible forms of human trafficking in our digital age. Joy was lured into it by a distant aunt when she was just 10 years old. Her parents were working abroad when it started, assuming Joy was safe living with relatives.
But Joy was far from safe. She and other children were continually exploited in front of a web camera for paying customers around the world. Joy was too young and scared to tell anyone about the abuse, so it went on for years.
Thankfully, Joy was eventually rescued by authorities in the Philippines and her aunt was arrested. Because of you, IJM has stood beside Joy through her restoration and the trial of her aunt, where she bravely testified. |

Today Joy has become a strong survivor leader using her voice for other victims and working to end online sexual exploitation for good.
“I want it to stop. I believe it can stop,” Joy said during a recent speech. “But I cannot do it alone. Will you stand right now to end slavery with me?”
Joy’s plea is our plea. Finding and freeing children from this abuse and helping restore their lives is one of the greatest gifts you can give this holiday season. Please don’t miss this opportunity to help bring twice the hope, rescue and restoration to more children like Joy. |
