EMET Condemns in the Strongest Terms the International Criminal Court Arrest Warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant

(November 21, 2024, Washington, DC) EMET condemns outright the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its biased and outrageous decision to seek the arrest warrants against high-ranking Israeli officials for “war crimes.” As we have noted in the past ([link removed]) , the ICC is yet another example of an international institution suffering from the rot of anti-Israeli hatred.

The ICC’s case against Israel has always been purely political. In fact, two of the lawyers who helped build the case, Abdelmajid Mrari and Khaled Al Shouli, have made statements ([link removed]) justifying the Oct. 7th massacre and supporting Hamas. Such blatant support for terrorism and disregard for Jewish human life has become a repeating theme in international institutions as they are rotted from the inside by rampant antisemitism.

EMET calls on Israel’s allies to take serious action against the ICC to show the world that such anti-Israel bias in international institutions will no longer be tolerated. Nothing short of sanctions and unambiguous condemnation will only encourage those seeking to destroy Israel through weaponizing international law and legal structures.

Says Sarah Stern, Founder and President of EMET, “This is a Kafkaesque moral inversion of history. No nation should be expected to allow the infiltration of thousands of Hamas terrorists, the rape and mutilation of its citizens, the burning of its children in ovens, the murder of 1200 of its citizens, and the taking of over 250 hostages. What nation would not respond to the relentless bombing of its people? This proves that the ICC is simply a dastardly embodiment of anti-Zionism and antisemitism.”
