Dear John,
As we near the end of a tough year, the urgency of our mission to transform hearts and minds has never been greater. The fight for a more just and equitable society faces mounting threats—harmful narratives continue to erode progress in racial justice, immigrant rights, and fostering an inclusive democracy. The future we’ve worked tirelessly to build is at risk.
But we won't back down.
Thanks to your past support, we’re confronting these challenges head-on.

Take Divine, for example, a member of TOA's Beyond Democracy program.
Divine, President of the Friends of the Freedom House, is a force for change. Deeply rooted in her community, she carries forward the legacy of civil rights activism from the 1960s to today.
As a member of the We Matter New Orleans campaign, her mission is to inspire younger generations of color to learn from and continue the work their elders started to build a more just and equitable society. Her goal is to drive voter engagement in her community and help her neighbors stay involved long after the elections.
As a member of our Beyond Democracy project, TOA provided her with research-based tools to tell her story in a way that captures attention and drives action, inspiring others to see that they matter, too. Thanks to these tools, Divine’s campaign has reached thousands of voters in this past election cycle.
But she’s not stopping there—she’s committed to keeping up the fight for lasting change in her city and beyond.

We won’t sugarcoat it—the road ahead is difficult. But with your help, we can amplify voices like Divine’s, ensure their messages resonate with audiences, and foster lasting change.
With your donation, we can ensure that:
- Regressive policies don’t erase the hard-won progress we’ve made.
- Marginalized voices aren’t drowned out by harmful and dominant narratives.
- Our vision of justice and opportunity for all strengthens and doesn’t fade.
In these critical times, we can’t afford to take a step back. Your generosity drives change.
As we close out 2024, will you stand with us to equip social justice leaders, artists, and advocates with the tools they need to push back against misinformation and challenge narratives of division and fear?

|
|
Could underwrite the costs of designing and conducting a survey as part of our immigrant justice research.
|

|
Will be a vote of confidence in all the work TOA and its program participants do.
