Over the past eight decades, you have played a vital role in advancing HBCUs and empowering dreams for countless individuals. The impact of HBCUs is substantial, contributing a cumulative national economic impact of $16.5 billion and generating an additional $146 billion in lifetime earnings for their graduates.

Yet we still face some critical challenges: each year, we administer over 400 scholarship and fellowship programs but can fulfill only one in every 10 requests for financial support. Operating without federal funds, we rely on contributions to sustain our member HBCUs and their students.

As we conclude this momentous anniversary, we invite you to continue making a difference in the lives of students of color.
