Trump is an idiot, we know. But he’s a dangerous idiot.
He and his cronies have constantly promised to abolish the Department of Education and put state and local governments in charge of education.
I’m a senior in high school right now, and in a sec, I want to tell you how life would change for me and my peers if Trump got his way. But if you’re already with us to fight his anti-youth agenda, can you donate $27 right now? >> ([link removed])
For starters, the DOE oversees the federal student loan program, and Trump’s plan would make it much harder, if not impossible, for me and my friends to afford college.
Trump would also eliminate programs that enforce civil rights laws in federally funded schools, putting those responsibilities in the hands of the DOJ. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Matt Gaetz in charge of what happens to kids in this country.
Life’s about to get a lot tougher for my generation. And it’s infuriating. But it’s not stopping our fight.
Trump and his cronies want to keep my generation ignorant. They’re doing everything they can to keep us in the dark.
But right now, we have a chance to get a head start on educating and empowering the next generation of voters. The momentum we build today mobilizing young people on high school and college campuses is beyond important. And it depends on you, John.
