Dear John,

Oregon’s primary election is just four days away! It’s too late now to vote by mail, so make sure you drop your ballot off at an official drop box by Tuesday, May 19th, at 8pm.

Our lives have changed tremendously in recent weeks, but one thing hasn’t changed: OLCV is still electing and re-electing environmental champions. We’re still talking to voters just like every other election season, but this time we’re doing it by text and phone instead of on people’s doorsteps.

In this uncertain time, we need your support more than ever. Make a gift to the OLCV PAC and ensure that we have the resources we need during this important election year. If you use your Oregon Political Tax Credit–$50 for individuals or $100 for married couples filing jointly–you can even get your donation back when you file your taxes!

If you are still deciding how to cast your vote, check out the full list of OLCV-endorsed candidates on our website, or look in your Voter’s Pamphlet. I want to tell you more about one candidate in particular: State Senator Shemia Fagan for Secretary of State!

Shemia has an OLCV Lifetime score of 91% (2019 score is 94%). When big polluters tried over and over again to kill climate action in Oregon, Shemia never gave in or gave up. She knows that protecting our environment and protecting our democracy go hand-in-hand. As Secretary of State, she will continue to advocate for the people of Oregon. And as one of three members on the State Land Board, Shemia will keep public lands–like our Elliott State Forest–in public hands.

We have big plans for the rest of 2020 and beyond, but we can’t do any of it without electing and re-electing environmental champions. You can do your part by making a contribution to OLCV today and voting by May 19th.

Thanks for being a stay-at-home Environmental Voter!

Staying in touch via the Oregon League of Conservation Voters’ email list is the best way we have of keeping in regular contact with supporters like you and letting you know about the ways you can take action to protect the environment. You can unsubscribe from our supporter list, but if you leave, it will be harder for you to stay involved with OLCV and continue the work that you’ve been such a critical part of. OLCV wins environmental policy fights and elections because of dedicated activists like you, and we’d hate to see you go.
