At last night's virtual meeting, Houston DSA members approved a resolution to create our newest working group: Disaster & Mutual Aid.

The Disaster & Mutual Aid Working Group administers our newly-created COVID-19 Solidarity Fund and the associated mutual aid campaign.

We have a vision of a Houston where networks of resilient communities look out for themselves and each other, embodied by the motto "We Keep Us Safe". In accordance with that vision, we are currently identifying members of our communities who have unmet needs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and determining the best way to meet those needs while building working class power. So far, this has mostly taken the form of delivering groceries to vulnerable households.
