[1]Sarah McBride - Democrat for Congress
Yesterday, a right-wing member of the House Republicans introduced an
anti-trans resolution meant to target me simply because of who I am.
This is a blatant attempt from far-right extremists to distract from the
fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing. We
should be focused on bringing down the costs of housing, health care, and
child care — not manufacturing culture wars.
Delawareans sent me to Congress to make the American dream more affordable
and accessible. That’s what I’m focused on.
So, while the professional provocateurs in the House are intent on wasting
the American people’s time on personal attacks, I’ve been working hard to
ensure we’re ready to hit the ground running once I’m sworn in on January
3rd.
This week, I wrapped up the first days of new member orientation at the
U.S. Capitol. I had the opportunity to discuss Delaware’s priorities with
congressional leaders and attend sessions to establish our offices in D.C.
and at home.
Most importantly, I’ve begun the work to lift up what I’ve heard from
Delawareans: the need to build a government that respects all of us by
lowering costs facing families and fostering a politics of grace and
kindness.
I remain committed to bringing my results-driven approach to Washington so
we can make progress on the most important issues. Extremists won’t stop
me from bringing people together to deliver for you.
Every day, Americans go to work with people who live, look, and vote
differently than they do. They may not always agree, but they show
respect, collaborate across differences, and get the job done. That’s my
job, too — not to work only with those who share my views but to build
bridges and find solutions.
Thank you, as always, for your love and support.
