Today, we remember and uplift the trans community ± those we’ve lost and those still with us.

Dear Trevor Community,

As we observe Trans Day of Remembrance, I am deeply moved by the significance of this day. I want to take this moment to honor the lives of transgender people who have tragically been taken from us, whether through violence or suicide. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the trans community — challenges that none should have to endure.

The findings from our 2024 U.S. National Survey ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) reveal this harsh reality: nearly half of transgender and nonbinary young people (46%) have seriously considered suicide in the past year, and more than 28% have faced physical threats or harm simply for being who they are. These are not just statistics — they represent real lives and loved ones who deserve safety, dignity, and respect.

While today is a time to honor those we have lost, it is also about celebrating the bravery of trans and nonbinary young people who navigate the world with authenticity and grace. Your stories matter, and your existence is powerful. We see you. We celebrate you.

At The Trevor Project, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting and protecting the trans and nonbinary community. Our crisis services ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) are here, 24/7, for those who need someone to turn to, and our advocacy ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) and research efforts ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) continue to work
toward a future where every LGBTQ+ young person can thrive. We’re also proud to uplift the stories of trans and nonbinary young people through our award-winning content, such as Learn with Love ([link removed]) and Sharing Space. ([link removed])

On this day of remembrance, we reflect on the lives lost and renew our dedication to creating a world where no trans or nonbinary young person has to suffer in silence or live in fear. You are not alone in this journey. We are here for you today, tomorrow, and always.

With heartfelt gratitude,
