Friend — The Senate will take a consequential vote tonight.
They have an important choice to make: Should the US comply with domestic and international law and stop the madness of arming the genocide in Gaza? Or will we continue to send ammunition for Israel to use against unarmed civilians — mostly women and children — and destroy what is left of the Gaza strip?
I stand with Bernie and every member of the Senate who will have the courage to support his resolution in the vote tonight.
And if this resolution makes it out of the Senate and into the House, I will have no hesitation in joining them.
For well over a year now we have watched the horrifying conduct of the Israeli military. Some experts estimate that over 200,000 people may be dead with thousands more injured and displaced. Schools, hospitals, and even refugee camps have been targeted by airstrikes and gunfire, killing countless civilians. All while Israel has delayed or outright blocked the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
It’s madness, it’s unconscionable, and it's time that the United States stopped funding this genocide.
If you want to show your support for the resolution, please, add your name to our petition calling for an end to military to Israel. Right now is a pivotal moment to raise our voices up in defense of the Palestinian people.
ADD YOUR NAMEJoe Biden is president for another two months, which means there’s still time for us to do the right thing. Let’s send a message that the American people have had enough of seeing death and destruction carried out with our tax dollars.
In solidarity,
Ilhan Omar
