The incoming Trump administration is not wasting any time preparing their attacks against civil society. Republicans are shamelessly ramming H.R. 9495, the “Kill Nonprofits Bill”, through Congress and are expected to vote on the bill as early as tomorrow, November 21st.
H.R. 9495 is a sweeping bill that would allow the executive branch to weaponize the law against any organization arbitrarily deemed a “terrorist supporting organization”. This bill is a blatant attack on nonprofits’ ability to speak freely and advocate for important issues like reproductive freedom: threatening the right to dissent.
