Free and fair elections are a cornerstone of our democracy. Although the result of the presidential election is a shock to so many of us, it is important that we accept the results and ensure a peaceful transfer of power. Donald Trump won the election and will be the next President of the United States.

This does not mean the fight is over.

Throughout my career, as an Army Ranger and a Member of Congress, I have sworn oaths to protect the future and security of this nation from those who wish it harm.

I swear another to you now: I will do everything in my power to protect Colorado, defend the Constitution, and stand against Donald Trump’s worst impulses. And I can’t do it without your support.
