Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well. With the holiday season right around the corner, I want to share what’s on the horizon, including my office hours for next week, my Veterans Breakfast this Friday, a survey asking for personal stories about Veterans who served in the Battle of the Bulge, my visit to Norristown to acknowledge Children’s Grief Awareness month and to Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their Veterans Day event, the Winter Collection Drive my office is coordinating through Dec. 13, and more!
As always, I hope you find the information below informative and useful.
| | Upcoming Office Hours
| | Hey, neighbors! I want to quickly share my district office hours for the holiday next week. Here are the following dates and times we will be closed:
Wednesday, Nov. 27, office closes at 12 p.m. (noon)
Thursday, Nov. 28, office closed all day
Friday, Nov. 29, office closed all day
If you need state-related assistance, call my office at (484) 200-8263 and a staff member will get back to you. We will re-open on Monday, Dec. 2 at 9:30 a.m.
| | Acknowledging Children's Grief Awareness Month
| | Last Thursday I joined the Center for Loss and Bereavement and Dr. Janine Darby from Montgomery County to acknowledge Children's Grief Awareness Month. 1 in 11 children in Pennsylvania will experience a death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18, and its important communities come together to support and offer resources that allow grieving children to understand they are not alone.
| | Visiting Parkhouse to Honor Veterans
| | I visited Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center with Senator Katie Muth on Friday to honor the residing veterans. We had the pleasure of speaking and presenting them with certificates and pins. It's important to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and the sacrifices they made to protect our country. Each time you see a veteran, I encourage you to thank them for their service and ask where they served.
| | Veterans Breakfast
| | | Sending a quick reminder that my Veterans’ Breakfast is this Friday, November 22nd, at Chadwick’s Restaurant & Bar from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please join me to network with fellow veterans and discuss legislative updates on matters of importance to Pennsylvania veterans.
RSVPs close by the end of business on Thursday, November 21st. To register, please call my office at 484-200-8263 or visit this website: Veterans Breakfast

Below, we ask you to participate in a survey that calls for any personal stories about veterans who served in the battle. More information is available on the website.

| | Upcoming Observances
| American Education Week – November 18th–22nd
| | This week, we’re celebrating American Education Week across the nation! The development and opportunities that our educators offer, as well as the hard-working support from staff, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, administrators, counselors, nurses, librarians, and more truly make a difference in allowing each student to achieve, dream, and succeed. Creating a school environment that is safe, just, and equitable is important, and this week we’re honoring each individual who makes that a reality.
| National Apprenticeship Week – November 17th – 23rd
| | The value that apprenticeships bring is essential to advancing the next generation of workers and the growth of employers. Apprenticeships benefit many groups, including veterans who are attempting to bridge their skills gained during service and civilian occupations. Pennsylvania has over 1,550 registered apprenticeship programs.
Call my office at 484-200-8263 for ways to explore apprenticeship opportunities!
