John,
Matt Gaetz is an extremist who cannot be allowed to lead the United States Department of Justice as the Attorney General.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, not only did Gaetz invite a white nationalist to the 2018 State of the Union address, he also set up a payment platform to help far-right, white supremacist organizations crowdfund in order to continue their harassment campaigns against vulnerable communities.1
We cannot allow someone like this to be this nation’s “top cop,” responsible for enforcing the rule of law.
Join thousands of Americans in a resounding voice as we tell the Senate to reject the confirmation of Matt Gaetz to Attorney General of the United States.

Not only is Matt Gaetz an extremist who was under investigation by the House Ethics Committee before he abruptly resigned from Congress, he has been a threat to vital human needs programs.
While a Representative in Congress, Gaetz helped lead the charge in pushing for a radical restructuring of SNAP that included more onerous work requirements, despite the fact that the majority of SNAP recipients do work―they just work in low-wage jobs and can’t afford to cover basic needs, like food.2
Gaetz voted against the American Rescue Plan Act, the legislation that expanded the Child Tax Credit, extended unemployment benefits, and provided emergency grants to small businesses.3 And he supported throwing out millions of votes as he peddled the lie that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.4
Confirming Matt Gaetz to serve as the Attorney General after Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20 would be allowing an extremist to have free reign over the Department of Justice and give him full resources to go after political opponents. We can’t let that happen.
