In case you've missed our emails, the annual Sacramento DSA Local Convention is coming up this weekend! Come and learn about the work we've done in the last year, voice your opinion on chapter priorities and projects, and vote on your chapter structure for 2025. RSVP here.

CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Today (Wed, Nov. 20) is the deadline for Steering Committee officer nominations! If you are interested in running the day to day operations of our chapter, or know of someone in the chapter who would make a great leader, nominate them or yourself today! The Steering Committee consists of nine positions: 2 Co-Chairs, 1 Secretary, 1 Comms Director, 1 Treasurer, and 4 Organizers. Click here to make a nomination for the 2025 Steering Committee.

  • We'll be electing a DSA member to the board of the Marxist School of Sacramento, per an agreement between our 2 organizations. Submit your application before our Socialist Education Committee's Dec. 4th meeting. Include a written statement about yourself and why you would like to get involved. The Marxist School board will meet on Jan 23rd, 2025. Email us with your application statement or any questions.

DSA MEETINGS & EVENTS:

  • Mutual Aid Monday: Monday, Nov. 25th at 5:30pm. Location: Corner of 10th & I st. at Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sacramento, CA. Join the Mutual Aid Committee for our next meal & supply distribution! Come find out what we're all about and how you can get involved. We have a variety of ways for you to help out in person. Donations and volunteers are always needed. Email us if you have any questions or would like help coordinating a donation. We look forward to seeing you out there!

  • The Healthcare Committee will hold its next meeting on Monday, Dec. 9th at 6pm at Tea Bar & Fusion Cafe, 2700 Capitol Ave, Sacramento, CA. We'll be discussing what to work on in the new year and electing new committee co-chairs. All are welcome to attend, participate, and share your ideas. Come before 6pm to order a food bowl or wrap for a cheaper price.

  • The Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights has a listing of upcoming pro-Palestinian actions and events on their website. Sacramento DSA is proud to be a longtime member organization standing in solidarity with Palestinians against Israel's ongoing US-supported genocide.
