 This is important, John: If we are going to push the establishment toward a just COVID-19 response for our communities all over the country, we need allies at all levels of government to fight for the relief we know a Green New Deal would bring. We’ve all been under so much pressure since the latest crisis began and this is a chance to check in both with each other and our neighbors. We’ll be connecting people with COVID resources while giving them vital information about Green New Deal champions Charles Booker (for KY Senate), Jamaal Bowman (for NY-16), and Andrew Romanoff (for CO Senate). No experience necessary! We’ll train you on how to handle the phone calls—plus there’ll be a DJ, dancing, and fellow movement leaders there to make this a low-pressure experience that can have a giant impact on these races. You’ll even get a chance to meet and get to know Charles Booker and Andrew Romanoff, as they’ll be joining us on the call. These Sunrise-endorsed candidates would break the status quo in their districts if elected and be key players in fighting for our movement’s values in the halls of Congress. We are just 40 days away from the NY and KY primaries, so we’ve got to do everything we can to gather support for these champions before then. Look at what AOC has done to further our movement’s mandate—imagine how much more could be accomplished with more reinforcements in Congress to fight for our communities and pass Green New Deal legislation in 2021.
