AHC Returns $4.9 Million to Arlington's Affordable Housing Investment Fund
AHC Inc. presented a $4.9 million check to Arlington County last month to repay funds we borrowed to build or preserve affordable housing through the County's Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF).
Since its inception in 1988, this revolving loan fund has helped to create and preserve most of Arlington's homes for low- and moderate-income families. It's a wonderful financing tool and really works. Over the years, AHC has received nearly $94 million in loan funds from Arlington County, which has helped capitalize $375 million in real estate development.
Thank you Arlington County Board Chair Christian Dorsey, Housing Director David Cristeal and Deputy County Manager Samia Byrd for joining us. We appreciate Arlington County's ongoing support for affordable housing.

AHC's First-Ever Technology Career Night Inspires Students
Many of the teens in our education programs are interested in pursuing careers in technology, but don't have much information about the range of opportunities. To broaden their horizons, AHC hosted a Technology Career Fair a few weeks ago.
The experience was wonderful for all who participated. Nineteen professionals representing 12 different organizations talked with 56 of our teens and college students about their education, career path and current positions.
The evening was organized in a "speed networking" format to give all the youth a chance to visit with each group of professionals. It was fast-paced, loud and exciting to see the kids’ eyes light up when they learned about different opportunities including creating night vision goggles for the military, cyber security, and communication technology.
Huge thanks to Affirm Logic, Amazon, Arlington Independent Media, Artlab, DC Fire & Police Communications, Homeland Security, LTS, Mastercard Services , Microsoft, Night Vision and Electronic Senors Directorate, Punch Digital Strategies, and Salesforce for inspiring our students!
