When natural disasters strike our communities, we need leaders to put politics aside and commit to the hard work of rebuilding. But instead of providing much-needed aid to victims of Hurricane Helene, Republican legislators are staging a shameful power grab in the aftermath of this month’s elections.
Failing to provide critical funding and support to western NC right now will have serious consequences for years to come. Our legislators need to do their jobs and help western North Carolina rebuild.
