For 50 years, Brady has fought for a vision of what an America free from gun violence could look like — mapping out how we get there. We believe the only way to achieve lasting, meaningful progress is for our elected officials to take immediate action to end the gun violence epidemic.

But we need to know if supporters like you are with us. Please, John, we're urgently asking: Do you think our elected officials should take action to prevent gun violence?

John, my name is Steve Kerr. You may know me as coach of the Golden State Warriors, but I hope you also know that I'm a dedicated activist and Brady partner.

I know personally what it is like to lose a loved one to gun violence — and I fight every day to prevent anyone else from knowing that loss too.

My father was shot and killed at work 40 years ago, changing my life forever and leaving my family scarred. Unfortunately, stories like mine are all too familiar, and as I engage with this work, I continue to ask myself: When will our leaders do something?

This election was not the slam dunk for gun safety advocates that we had hoped for. But as we move forward, I am trying to imagine what our future could look like if we work together, if we overcome the gun lobby's influence on Washington — and if we finally create an America free from gun violence.

In the wake of the election, you may be thinking that this vision really was nothing more than a pipe dream. But we’ve been here before, John, and we’ve fought the NRA and the pro-gun lobby time and time again — and we’ve won. This time around, it’s up to us to fight even harder.

Americans deserve a better future. And we voted our elected officials into office, so they owe it to us to fight for the things that matter most to their constituents — you and me.

That's why Brady is asking 1,000 supporters to complete this survey before midnight, and they want me to personally reach out to you for your response:

Do you think our elected officials should take action to prevent gun violence?

Thanks for taking action. We need you on our team.
