  • As of yesterday, Mary Gay has the second-most Democratic votes among Pennsylvania's House candidates in a competitive race.

  • Exciting news, Mary Gay also received the highest number of votes in her career this cycle!

Mary Gay Scanlon for Congress

John, now that the post-election dust is settling I want to take a moment to focus on the things this team accomplished even in (especially in) this challenging environment for Democrats.

This team stepped up and showed the impact deep organizing can have where it really counts. Just take a look at some of these stats giving us hope:
 
  • We helped fund 3 rural county Democratic parties in Southeast PA leading to a 92% Democratic ballot return rate, outperforming the average and shoring up critical local races

  • We sent money to 10 incumbents and 2 Red-to-Blue candidates who fought and won in tough races against MAGA opponents

  • Our margin of victory remained the same from 2022 and 2024, Mary Gay received 65.1% of the votes in both elections. In addition, in 2024, Mary Gay received the highest number of votes she has ever gotten. This shows how our team was successful with fending off the Republican bump felt in other districts.

  • We won back this seat with a clear mandate to return to Washington and continue the fight to protect our rights and our families

That is the power of organizing and connecting directly with the people. That’s what this team made happen with your time, support and dollars. We stood up to the GOP disinformation machine and big money donors and, despite the red wave across the country, we held firm and won — not just our race but for candidates across SE PA.

This is the work we must continue into 2025 and beyond. We cannot stop organizing just because the election is over. In fact, all the signs from this disappointing cycle are confirming what we already knew: real, effective, lasting progress requires constant connection and outreach.
