Fellow activist,

If we haven’t met, my name is Katy Personette and I am the Director of Development and Policy at the New Pennsylvania Project.

I joined this organization in January 2022 after coming from an issue advocacy organization where we pushed for progressive policies like raising the minimum wage and fair education funding through the halls of Harrisburg. I made the jump after realizing that in order to see these policies through, we must first expand the electorate in PA, to reflect all people of Pennsylvania.

Since then, I have seen this organization grow from a staff of five to a staff of 60+, and it has been so special to be a part of.

In 2022, our first full year in operation on the ground, we helped more than 20,000 Pennsylvanians register to vote and mobilized many of those newly registered voters to the polls. NPP helped flip Pennsylvania's State House for the first time in over a decade.

In the years following, we have helped to protect that majority throughout several special elections and engaged thousands of Pennsylvanians around the importance of registering to vote, voting your values and understanding the impact elections have on our daily lives and within our state and federal government. NPP has assisted 46,000 Pennsylvanians in registering to vote and making their voices heard at the ballot box.

Since our foundation in 2021, more than 7,000 individuals have supported our work, consisting of everyday Pennsylvanians and people across the country. This consistent support has been the reason why we have been able to grow our staff and expand our work across the Commonwealth to now include twenty counties.

As Director of Development, it has been truly a humbling experience to see how many people believe in our mission of year-round voter engagement centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth.

I am honored to do this work with all of you and am committed to this movement, especially after the results of this General Election.

With your help we will continue this movement by having a direct impact in communities all across Pennsylvania in 2025 and beyond. Will you consider a donation of $25 or more to support our work today? ([link removed]

I know what I am standing up for at this moment: I am standing up for voting rights, reproductive rights, disability rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and basic human rights among other policies that will move all of us forward as a country. Are you ready to join me in the fight?

Onward,

Katy Personette
Director of Development and Policy
The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
