Making Sense of the Budget - live broadcast tomorrow

Economist Michael Burke in conversation with People’s Assembly National Secretary, Ben Sellers.

Labour’s first budget in Government was delivered on October the 30th by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

A lot of the talk pre-budget was about hard choices, in the wake of a series of the cuts to the winter fuel allowance for millions of pensioners, the continuation of the two-child benefit limit and the rise in bus fares.

A lot of the talk post-budget was about tax-and-spend, the end of austerity and tax burdens on employers.

Where does the truth lie? Is it really the end of austerity? Was this a tax-and-spend budget?

We ask Michael Burke, socialist economist, and long-time supporting of the People’s Assembly Against Austerity, for some answers. Join us at 7pm and join the conversation on our channels and by using the hashtag #LaboursBudget
