16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence
Monday 25 November marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls. The campaign runs for 16 days until the 10 December, which is Human Rights Day.
London boroughs and local VAWG organisations are marking the 16 days with a number of events across the capital. Please click here to find out more information about what each borough is doing. ( [link removed] )
LB Redbridge announce new Chief Executive
Claire Hamilton, currently Chief Executive at Dacorum Borough Council, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive for the London Borough of Redbridge and will start her role in March 2025.
Adrian Loades has been the Interim Chief Executive since November 2023 and will be retiring at the end of January next year.
By-election results
Two by-elections took place in London boroughs last week.
In LB Redbridge, Emma Shepherd-Mallinson (Lab) won the Wanstead Park ward by-election. Full result here ( [link removed] ).
