Dear John
This afternoon, Senator Malcolm Roberts took a decisive stand in
the Australian Senate, moving a motion to kill the Misinformation
and Disinformation Bill once and for all in the Senate.
Co-sponsored by Senator Pauline Hanson, this bold move reaffirms One
Nation’s commitment to protecting free speech.
On Monday morning, the Senate will cast its final vote. This is
where the true colours of Australia’s Senators will be revealed. Who
will stand for Australia, and who will side with censorship?
It is crucial you stay glued to all One Nation
communication channels between now and Monday as we update
you on this pivotal fight. That means socials, emails, via phone—pass
this vital information onto as many people as you can.
The Greens are flip-flopping, and several Senators have yet to
declare their intentions. Alarmingly, some Liberals may even side with
Labor, as Senator Roberts recently highlighted on X:
Until now, the Bill was hanging around like a bad smell, ready for
Labor to whip it out when they have hustled enough votes. One Nation
has drawn a line in the-sand.
Will Australians endure censorship under an authoritarian
and control-orientated government, or will we succeed in this battle
for free speech? That is the question. Stay tuned.
What You Need to Know
It’s important to remember that the origins of this dangerous
legislation lie with the Liberals. This bill was drafted by the
previous Liberal government and later introduced by Labor. The only
reason the Liberals are opposing it now is because Labor refused to
back their version during the Morrison years.
One Nation’s Track Record
Since Labor came to power, One Nation has been the only party
consistently standing firm against their relentless attacks on free
speech.
- We’ve led protests and rallies across the country in every capital
city using our party resources
- In 2023, we hosted a Free Speech Conference at our cost and
launched the Brisbane Declaration, a manifesto for
defending freedom of expression. Our Free Speech conference was the
only one of its kind across the country.
While Labor and the Liberals play political games, One Nation acts
and campaigns decisively.
Senator Roberts’ motion is just the latest example of our
commitment to fighting for justice, protecting what’s right, and
safeguarding your freedoms.
Looking Ahead: A Freedom Agenda
This is just the beginning. One Nation is taking our freedom agenda
to the next federal election.
We’ll be asking Australians to help us secure more Senate seats so
we can:
- Block harmful bills like the Misinformation and Disinformation
Bill.
- Champion the rights of everyday Aussies.
- Stand up for the freedoms that underpin our nation.
Your Voice Matters
Monday’s vote is about more than a single piece of legislation—it’s
about the future of free speech in Australia. One Nation is proud to
be the party you can trust to defend this fundamental right.
Labor and the Liberals have proven time and time again that free
speech isn’t a priority for them. Only One Nation will stand with you
in this fight.
Together, we can make sure that Australia remains a country where
freedom of speech is cherished and protected.
