Assalaamu 'alaykum John,

As the days of Ramadan dwindle down, and the blessings to be had yet
within our grasp, we are reminded that it is how we finish, regardless
of how we start, that counts.

The story of MLFA beneficiary Hamid Hayat serves as an incredible
example of coming through on a promise to defend an innocent man, no
matter how long it took.

Convicted of a crime he did not commit in the aftermath of 9/11, Hamid
served 14 years behind bars before his conviction was finally
overturned. When MLFA learned of his case, we funded critical legal
assistance over the span of 5 years to vindicate him.

It took many years, but justice reigned in the end.
