Friend, when I first entered Congress in 2019, I became close friends with a group now informally called the “badass women”— women with military and national security backgrounds, who answered the call to serve once again by running for office in 2018.

One of those incredible women is Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey.

As a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a former helicopter aircraft commander, Mikie knows that in a crisis, there are only three options: you can either lead, follow, or get out of the way.

I know which one we both pick — and that’s why I’m thrilled to share that Mikie Sherrill is officially running for Governor of New Jersey. Friend, will you split a contribution between Mikie and me to become a Founding Donor of her campaign for New Jersey?

I can tell you first-hand that Mikie fights every day for the people of New Jersey.

In the House, she’s always looking for ways to make life more affordable for New Jerseyans — taking on issues like health care, the cost of groceries, and child care.

And on the Armed Services committee, where we serve together, Mikie is a relentless advocate for our service members and their families.

Back when we were first running for Congress, leaders in DC told us both not to work together — that it would somehow harm us both to share tips learned from the campaign trail, or introduce each other to our supporters.

But Mikie and I both know from a life of service that accomplishing a big mission requires a big, dedicated team.

Now, she’s announcing her candidacy for governor on a mission to get things done for New Jersey.
