John,
You might be wondering what is in store for the future of our climate investments now that Trump has won and Republicans will control Congress?
Before you think all hope is lost, consider these three points…
1. First, we were smart when we designed the Inflation Reduction Act to ensure the vast majority of money could be spent during President Biden’s term - and the money that is currently not out the door, SEEC members are working to get it done before Trump takes office on January 20, 2025.
2.
3. Second, we were also smart about making sure these investments were beneficial for both blue states and red states alike. So if Trump intends to rescind the climate investments we’ve made, he’ll have to take that away from Republicans too.
4.
5. Finally, we know that there will be a lingering fight over climate tax credits that Trump has his sights on too. But that will fly in the face of his promise to lower costs for working families by instead raising taxes on working families and small businesses.
As SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko said, “If Republicans want to cede the clean energy future to China and take us backwards on energy independence, all while killing thousands of good jobs in red and blue districts across the country, House Democrats will be ready for the fight.”
We need your help to protect our clean energy investments! Will you sign our petition and call on Republicans in Congress to protect the climate tax credits we passed? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
