ACU: Freedom Is On The March

Last week the American Conservative Union (ACU) hosted with Liberty Works the inaugural CPAC Australia in Sydney. With over 1,700 articles and worldwide media coverage of the event, the Australian Left-wing political establishment was shaken to its core and conservatives sent a message to all that freedom is on the march.

Among the speakers for the action-packed two-day conference were Matt Schlapp, Nigel Farage, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Freedom Caucus Co-Founder and Chairman Mark Meadows, Raheem Kassam, and some of the nation's best Australian conservative leaders who came together to explain why freedom and liberty must be restored.

What we see happening among the radical Left in America is occurring around the globe and the battle is the same for all freedom-loving people: we are engaged in a global struggle between authoritarianism and freedom. And freedom must win.

Make no mistake, the soldiers of authoritarianism did not fail to show up and launch a broadside against us last weekend, beginning with the intolerant Senator Kristina Keneally who spent over a week on the floor of parliament lobbying for ACU and CPAC Australia speakers’ visas to be revoked. This fight spilled over onto the streets of Sydney where Australian members of ANTIFA rioted to try and drown out our voice.

We are now just 2 weeks away from the third annual Japanese CPAC and will conduct similar events over five continents over the next two months including Brazil, Korea, and Ireland. While we are thrilled with the way conservatism and CPAC is gaining traction around the world, America faces her own battle for freedom in 2020 and our main focus is always the fight for conservative values in America. ACU is thrilled to host battleground CPACs this fall in Minnesota, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and more to be announced soon.

As one Australian citizen told us last weekend: "You Americans must keep your guns because if you lose your guns, we Aussies will lose our freedom." He understands—as do all of us at ACU—that the fight for freedom begins in America and a free and prosperous America is what keeps the rest of the world free. If we lose this battle against authoritarianism, freedom will be lost everywhere.

We could not be prouder of the work ACU is doing here in America and across the globe with wonderful liberty-minded groups like the Japanese Conservative Union, Liberty Works, and many more. ACU will continue to lock arms and build bridges for the sake of advancing conservative principles around the globe but the only way we can carry out this mission is when we get the financial support that allows us to do this great work.
