Imagine serving faithfully as a first responder for over 20 years and
then getting fired because you attended a leadership conference that
was held at church.

That's just what happened to Fire Chief Ron Hittle.

But there's more to it than that.

Ron's employer, the City of Stockton, California, listed his
attendance at a religious event as the primary reason for his
dismissal.

It's really rare that an employer is bold enough to tell you
that they are firing you for your faith, but that's just what
Stockton's leaders did.

That's not only wrong, it's illegal.

Now it's up to the Supreme Court to decide his case.

We are petitioning the Supreme Court to take up Ron's case and
to make it clear that cities like Stockton can't fire employees
because of their religious beliefs or practices.

This is the make-or-break moment for Ron and thousands of employees of
faith.

While our expert legal team believes the merits of Ron's case
warrant a hearing, there are no guarantees the justices will agree to
hear it.

You see, the Supreme Court is asked to hear around 7,000 cases each
year. And out of those 7,000 requests, the Court may hear around 60 of
them.

That makes this a particularly stressful time for Ron as he waits for
the justices' decision.

1. Pray for Ron, his case and the Supreme Court as the justices
consider hearing the case.
